I am the vine, ye are the branches, he that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit.
A child's oral health should not be put at risk due to economic, temporal, cultural, or geographical barriers. In order to minimize these barriers, the Dental Clinic has developed a mobile dental clinic program.
The mobile dental clinic serves the most economically disadvantaged elementary schools, in the area, with support from school administration. Children can expect to receive dental services including: an oral examination, a fluoride varnish application, and oral hygiene education as well as an oral health goody bag. A report card is sent home to the parents and TOMAGWA returns to the school in six months for follow up treatments.
The Super Hero Smile Day dental program at TOMAGWA is designed to continue to promote oral health and prevent cavities in under-served children in its service area. The program targets the problem of preventable tooth decay in young children and foster a dental home for reliable oral health care.
